Wedding and Honeymoon on the way... continued...

Krystle has spent all this month and will spend the first 2 weeks of next month with the Salvation Army camp just outside of town as a camp counselor.  It's been a frustrating and yet rewarding experience for her.  She's gotten sick along with a few other unfortunate problems outside of her control, which have discouraged her.  I've been concerned for her safety all along considering rattlesnakes and copperheads are very common in this area and they've each been spotted at the camp multiple times.  I do know that this will work out for the better, no matter what.  It's been difficult considering the rules of the camp and it's isolation create cell phone use issues.  We get to talk maybe 5-10 minutes a day at the most, 3 or 4 days a week, but we do get to visit for a little while Saturday night and Sunday morning/afternoon.  Every weekend is different, and we got to spend almost all of it together a few days ago, but she said that's likely the only weekend we'll get that kind of time, so, sigh... and only about 3 weeks to go now.

As it is, I have saved up about $850 for the honeymoon... and for the record, this would NEVER have happened without Krystle leaving for that camp.  I can't help myself, every time she asks for a Dr. Pepper, milk, cheeseburger, taco bell, etc. I cave.  As evidenced by the fact that I've been able to save up this much money with only 3 paychecks. We're about to get married, and I seriously need to learn to put my foot down if I know we shouldn't spend the money, lol.  By eating cheap food from the cheap little stores within walking distance of work and home, I've cut at least $250 wasted spending... PER PAYCHECK.  Pretty freaking amazing, huh?  I can't believe how it stacks up.

On a related, but different topic.  I've been wanting to get a concealed carry license for a couple years now.  There's almost no way I could get one, buy a weapon, and still afford the honeymoon.  It would take a stronger degree of control than I'm exercising, even now, and for me to find some awesome deals for the honeymoon, which will be in San Antonio.  We're staying in a B&B, not a hotel, and will be...
more later...
I'm back!
We're staying in a B&B, not a hotel, and will be paying more for that reason.  They have honeymoon packages and stuff like that which I'll be checking into.  That stuff goes on top of the normal nightly rates.  So in all, the honeymoon can cost in excess of $1k, and maybe I'm just being paranoid, but having my new wife at my side in a strange city for that long without a solid means of protection is a tad unnerving.  That's not to say I'm so paranoid I won't be able to enjoy it or anything, I just wish I had that defensive method available.  Maybe this time next year things will be different.

In preparation for the move, I've started going through all my boxes, and I've already set aside around 7 boxes worth of stuff I can throw away.  My closet floor is now completely empty and all that's left in it is my clothes, board games, blades, sheets(don't have a twin bed anymore, but still have the sheets...), and pool stick on the top shelf.  That was probably about half of the unpacked boxes in my room... and if I don't get rid of them now, I'll have second thoughts... which has already begun.

On a separate note, today makes 1-year employed and working for Grace Medical Equipment.  It's been a good year, and in all honesty, the best job I've had yet..

You are right about eating out. I hardly ever eat out but the guy I'm dating eats out every single day. It's a huge waste of cash and the food is bad for you too. So if you eat a lot of fast food you can also expect doctor bills later which makes that cheeseburger even more expensive in the long run. I hope you guys get things all worked out before the wedding. Congratulations by the way...
